Megan Markle did nothing wrong dressing as she did while visiting Nigeria
In a bold address just weeks after Meghan Markle’s high-profile visit, Nigeria’s First Lady issued a stern warning to the nation’s women: Don’t lose yourself trying to emulate American celebrities.Umm, there are plenty of legitimate complaints one could make about today's Tinseltown stars, but dresses like the one Markle wore aren't among them. For starters, Markle wasn't what Tinubu mentioned as follows:
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Tinubu, didn’t hold back as she took aim at the pervasive influence of Hollywood’s risqué fashion trends.
Speaking in Abuja to mark the first anniversary of her husband’s administration, Tinubu urged teenagers and young people to dress more modestly and reject the scantily-clad styles popularized by US stars.
“We have to salvage our children,” she declared. “We see the way they dress. We are not having the Met Gala. And everyone, the nakedness, is just everywhere and the men are well-clothed.”Ahem. Was Markle exposing her private parts? She was not. All this hysteria over revealing outfits long got out of hand. Besides, the following strongly suggests why this petty complaint was raised:
She continued, “Tell them we don’t accept nakedness in our culture. That is not beautiful. It’s not beautiful at all.”
Some experts criticized Markle’s choice of expensive and revealing outfits, suggesting she could have shown “more modesty” in a country where just over half of the population are Muslim.Well that's precisely why this whole stupid whining bears no weight, and is disgusting. There's been far too much anti-sex hysteria for over 50 years now, and the Religion of Peace has only made things far worse. Figures like Markle should not have to do the bidding of pathetic ideologues who clearly don't give a damn about the horrors women in Iran have had to put up with as a result of this, and that Islam's taken hold in Nigeria is equally horrific.
During her speech, Tinubu emphasized Nigerian women’s beauty and urged them to be confident in their identity.Ahem. Is sexuality not something a woman should be able to be confident about? And doesn't a woman's skin need breathing space when it's very hot out? Tinubu is a disgrace. I don't know if she's Muslim or not, but she is only making things far worse with her atrocious lecture that does more harm than good for women. "Bold"? Oh, do tell us about it. It was only pathetic. Ultra-Orthodox in Israel have only added insult to injury with their own beliefs in "modesty", that's come to serve as a distraction for cases like Tinubu's reprehensible, non-altruistic lecture. This atrocity of anti-sex propaganda must be opposed.
“They’re all beautiful girls, but they should be confident in who they are,” she said. “We are fashionable, we see what is going on.”
