It's not a good sign when the seriousness of the issue is forgotten

Daniel Greenfield writes about how, over 20 years since 9-11, quite a few people who once recognized the dangers of Islamofascism have since abandoned their mission to inform everybody:
In 9/13, the attacks of September 11 are not considered especially significant.

In 9/13, concern about Islamic terrorism ranks in the low single digits behind everything else.

In 9/13, a thousand trending concerns, some vital and some completely unimportant, have vastly eclipsed not only the barbaric mass murder of thousands, but the recognition that we are at war.

And that war is far from over.

In 9/13, the people who once specialized in talking about the threat of Islam have increasingly moved on. And it’s hard to blame them. No one really wants to hear it anymore. It’s yesterday’s news.

America’s Islamic population is growing. The open border doesn’t just bring in drug dealers and gang members, but massive numbers of people from the Muslim world. The Afghan airlift and visas will probably end up importing at least a quarter of a million as family reunification kicks in. Our national demographics are being transformed with the same eventual outcome as Europe.

But it’s 9/13. When I write articles about Islam, they perform worse than anything else. And I don’t have the same raw feeling toward the day that I used to. The ash used to haunt my nightmares. I snuck past the law enforcement and military presence downtown to make it to the site, the twisted mess of what was left, because I needed to know up close that what I had seen was real. But it’s not the same.

I hope it is for you. But I don’t think it is for most of us.
Someday, I've got a bad feeling Michigan, for example, will look nothing like that of the 20th century. Certainly not Dearborn and Hamtramck. Sadly, but not shockingly, today's very PC world has reached the point where nobody even on the right cares about the past enough to defend the future.

As noted before, Joe Biden made things worse by snubbing the 9-11 Memorial service, and by selling out to Iran:
Holding a 9/11 commemoration in Alaska conveniently sidelines the vast majority of family members outraged over Biden’s treasonous efforts to cut a deal with the mastermind of the September 11 attacks. A month before the anniversary, 9/11 families received a form letter telling them that a plan to cut the deal with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was underway.

2,000 family members responded by signing a letter to Biden pleading with him, “You are our President and we ask that you prioritize the interests of the victims of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks over those of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed or other terrorists.” Biden’s Alaska commemoration is a way to make sure that no family members can embarrass him in public the way that the victims of his disastrous surrender to the Taliban did.

The only connection between Al Qaeda and Alaska is that Biden recently gave a gift to Al Qaeda’s funders by banning oil companies from drilling on 10 million acres in the state.

Like Obama before him, Biden has been obsessed with freeing the Gitmo terrorists. Obama ousted one Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, and applied intense pressure on another, Ash Carter, who resisted efforts by his boss, Susan Rice and other pro-terrorist figures to ‘jam’ him. Unlike Hagel and Carter, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin willingly enabled Biden’s release of even the worst terrorists including an alternate 9/11 hijacker, an Al Qaeda ally who plotted to smuggle nukes into the country, a terrorist involved in the Marriott bombing and many others.

No president, not even Obama, has been as maliciously hostile to 9/11 families
. Before dispatching a form letter to families warning that a plea deal would be cut with the mastermind of the attacks not long before the anniversary date, Biden robbed families of a settlement and handed it over to the Taliban.
And then, there's the aforementioned topic of Iran over here:
The Biden administration has reportedly approved a deal with Iran to pay the rogue regime $6 billion in exchange for five detained American citizens.

The deal, according to the Associated Press (AP), entailed the Biden administration issuing a blanket waiver for international banks to transfer $6 billion in frozen Iranian money from South Korea to Qatar without U.S. sanctions. The money would then be held in Qatar’s central bank for Iran to use, reportedly for the purchase of humanitarian goods.

In addition, the Biden administration agreed to release five Iranian citizens held in the U.S.

According to the AP, Secretary of State Antony Blinken signed off on the deal late last week, but Congress was not notified of the deal until Monday, which was also 9/11, the 22nd anniversary of the U.S. suffering terrorist attacks by Islamic fundamentalists.
To make matters worse, some officials in Florida continue to associate with shady Islamists:
Following years of corruption at the Broward County Supervisor of Elections (SOE) office, under the leadership of Brenda Snipes, there was a hope that the present SOE, Joe Scott, would help to change the rotting culture. However, Scott’s speaking engagement along with a State Representative, at a radical mosque for an event sponsored by a widely criticized Islamist “political advocacy” group, may cause one to question whether anything has truly changed. [...]

This past July, SOE Scott and Florida State Representative Marie Woodson visited the Islamic Foundation of South Florida (IFSF) to participate in a town hall meeting discussing how new Florida legislation impacts the Muslim community. It was not the first time Representative Woodson visited IFSF. She was there, in July 2022, celebrating the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, wrapped in a headscarf, and posing for photos, one with IFSF’s imam Mufti Sultan Mohiuddin Mohammed.

IFSF has a disturbing history of hosting various Islamist groups and individuals at its center. In April 2014, IFSF hosted a talk by Mazen Mokhtar, the former administrator for an al-Qaeda financing/recruitment website qoqaz.net, who has called Hamas acts “heroic” and suicide bombings “an effective method of attacking the enemy.” IFSF’s ex-Youth Director, Abdur Rahman al-Ghani, used social media to label Jews “demonic,” America the “World’s Number One Terrorist Organization,” and gays “stone cold kaffirs outside the fold of Islam.”
But if, as Greenfield's noted before, neither the LGBT activists nor the MSM protest this, it'll be no shock at all. We seem to have quite a troubling situation occurring in Florida even as Ron deSantis is governor. And it can't be overlooked, yet that's chillingly what even some would-be GOP members might do, as things go from worse to hopeless.
