Knesset resolution submitted to recognize Armenian Genocide

One of the Likud's members - and the foreign minister - is doing the right thing to take a legal step to recognizing the Armenian Genocide in Israel:
At the upcoming government meeting, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar will propose a resolution for the official recognition by the Government of Israel of the Armenian Genocide.

The proposed resolution states that, based on a moral and historical obligation, Israel will recognize the genocide committed against the Armenian people during the final years of the Ottoman Empire. It further states that any denial, minimization, or distortion of the historical truth of these events must be condemned.

The resolution will subsequently be brought before the Knesset for approval as well.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly recognized the Armenian Genocide for the first time in August 2025.
Every resolution like this brought to the table is a vital step towards improvement of foreign relations.

Azerbaijan destroyed Armenian churches in Arsakh

About a month ago, it was reported that, unshockingly, the repellent Azerbaijan destroyed churches in the Arsakh district:
The cathedral of the largest city in Azerbaijan's Nagorno-Karabakh region has been demolished, RFE/RL can confirm through satellite imagery made on April 26.

Reports that the Holy Mother of God Cathedral in Khankendi had been destroyed emerged in Armenian media in mid-April, but no clear recent imagery showing the site was available until now. [...]

Armenia's Orthodox church authorities on April 23 accused Azerbaijan of "deliberately target[ing] Armenian Christian holy sites, seeking to erase the Armenian presence," from Nagorno-Karabakh. The church alleged cross stones in the grounds surrounding the demolished Church of St. Jacob have also been destroyed.
No matter what excuses Azerbaijan's reps or anybody else's make, this is disgusting and makes clear how evil the Azeris are being in addition to what physical violence they've committed over past years.

A sad mistake made by J.D Vance

The vice president of the USA erased a message for remembering the Armenian Genocide committed by Turkey's Islamic Ottoman empire during WW1:
US Vice President JD Vance’s X account on Tuesday posted and subsequently deleted a message acknowledging the Armenian genocide after he attended a wreath-laying ceremony in Armenia.

The original post stated that Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, attended the ceremony to honor the victims of the 1915 Armenian genocide, a term that broke with Trump administration policy.

Armenians have long sought international recognition for the 1915-1917 killings in the Ottoman era as genocide, which they say left some 1.5 million of their people dead
.

Turkey -- the Ottoman Empire's successor state -- strongly rejects that the massacres, imprisonment and forced deportation of Armenians from 1915 amounted to a genocide.

The US has avoided using the word "genocide" to describe the events due to concerns over damaging relations with Turkey, a key regional ally. However, former President Joe Biden in 2021 officially used the term “genocide" when describing the Ottoman Empire's persecution of the Armenian community, sparking outrage from Ankara.

A spokesperson for the vice president attributed Tuesday’s post to staff who were not part of the official delegation.

The White House later clarified there was no change in policy, referring back to a previous statement issued on Armenian Remembrance Day. Vance’s account reposted a more neutral message, including a photo of his handwritten note in the guest book: "In solemn remembrance of the lives lost, we honor the resilience and enduring spirit of the Armenian people."
Seriously, this is a huge letdown, because it doesn't solve the problem at all of obscuring history, to say nothing of the Religion of Peace's role in the horror of the early 20th century. And it comes as a slap in the face to Armenia after they'd welcomed Vance to the ceremony.

Update: the above isn't the only mistake Vance is making now. There's also this:
US Vice President JD Vance indicates that the US is not planning to overthrow the Iranian regime, but rather to ensure that it doesn’t obtain a nuclear weapon.

Asked by reporters if he wants to see regime change in Iran, Vance replies, “If the Iranian people want to overthrow the regime, that’s up to the Iranian people. What we’re focused on right now is the fact that Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon.”
Seriously, it's not encouraging of him to imply the Iranian opposition is on its own, and if he's saying they're okay with the ayatollahs remaining in power, should nothing else happen, that's wrong too, and undermines his ostensible defense of Europe's better interests.

Steven Spielberg's become unendurable

It was recently reported that the would-be legendary Hollywood filmmaker Spielberg has been funding anti-Israel movements through the institutions he founded, and worse, it looks like he himself has indicated where he really stands, almost 3 years after October 7, 2023:
When Steven Spielberg created the Righteous Persons Foundation with some of the profits from Schindler’s List, he wanted to educate people about the Holocaust and build up Jewish life in America. “I could not accept any money from ‘Schindler’s List’ — if it even made any money. It was blood money, and needed to be put back into the Jewish community.”

“My parents didn’t keep kosher and we mainly observed all the holidays when my grandparents stayed with us,” the filmmaker said at the time. “I knew I was missing a great deal of my natural heritage, and as I became conscious of it, I began racing to catch up.”

The race has long since gone the other way.

The last time the Righteous Persons Foundation, named after the rescuers of Holocaust survivors, funded Holocaust programs was in 2021. Most of its funding now goes to radical social justice groups including anti-Israel organizations like those protesting Israel.

Since 2021, Spielberg’s foundation has provided $650,000 to T’ruah, an anti-Israel hate group which took part in the Manhattan street blocking and whose CEO celebrated the move and gleefully posted photos of attendees falsely accusing Israel of “ethnic cleansing”.

“We have to keep up the pressure,” urged T’ruah CEO Jill Jacobs, who had accused Israeli officials of “incitement to genocide”, and demanded an end to further Israeli attacks on Hamas. Jacobs had blasted American Jews for speaking about “Oct. 7 and the plight of the hostages without once mentioning the unbearable death toll among Palestinians” because of what she claimed was their fear of wealthy Jewish donors.

Jacobs and T’ruah had even falsely accused Israel of “war crimes” by assassinating Hezbollah leaders. “Israel, too, has already committed war crimes in Lebanon, including by exploding the beepers and walkie talkies of hundreds of Hezbollah members,” Jacobs argued.

Within a year, Spielberg had gone from funding Holocaust survivors to funding those accusing Israel of a new Holocaust while enabling Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran to perpetrate a new one.
He already let the mask slip when he produced Munich in 2005, which was co-scripted by the anti-Israeli playright Tony Kushner, who's worked with him on at least a few other projects. In doing so, Spielberg effectively hollowed out Schindler's List, and at this point, I'm wondering if I can have my money back. As noted further along:
The Righteous Persons Foundation also provided $1.2 million to ‘Bend the Arc’, a radical group originally headed by an anti-Israel protester, which has close ties to anti-Israel protest groups.
I don't think Spielberg's ever made any serious effort to address the Armenian Holocaust during WW1, if at all, and no doubt, because that was perpetrated by the Religion of Peace. He's yet another ill-informed leftist, and towards the end of this article, it's also noted, horrifically enough, that:
A year later, in remarks at the University of Southern California, which was honoring him for setting up the USC Shoah Foundation, the filmmaker briefly addressed the issue, warning about rising antisemitism including “the machinery of extremism is being used on college campuses”, which some of the groups he’s funding have been protecting, while also claiming that it’s “happening alongside anti-Muslim, Arab, and Sikh discrimination.”

Spielberg then appeared to denounce both Israel and Hamas, arguing that, “we can rage against the heinous acts committed by the terrorists of October 7th and also decry the killing of innocent women and children in Gaza.”
Notice how he seems to be trying to cover his tracks by adding the Sikh religion to his shoddy lecture. Despite that, I don't think he gives a damn about followers of the Sikh faith, nor does he care about Arab/Muslim women who fell victim to violence perpetrated by Muslim men. And if followers of the Religion of Peace attacked Sikh adherents, as was the case in 1947, Spielberg would have nothing to say about even that. To think that I once thought he was one of the finest filmmakers, and then he destroyed everything by following the instructions of those who thought he should "grow up" as a storyteller, as though the adventure fare he was first known for was somehow not good enough. Then again, even if he hadn't abandoned fantasy-style filmmaking, chances are he would've lost his way eventually, and his so-called adaptation of War of the Worlds was simply unbearable.

Spielberg's not the only leftist Jew who's taken repellent positions. There's also actor Mandy Patinkin, who's sided with Zohran Mamdani. Perhaps this could explain why Patinkin was a co-star in Alien Nation from 1988, which was quite the leftist propaganda vehicle for a science fiction film. There's some role Patinkin had in years past that, if they're good movies, they'll have to be taken with a grain of salt for now. And back to Spielberg, I am done with his filmmaking resume, which decidedly began to collapse in the past 2 decades or so. No decent person should finance his institutions, that's for sure.

Update: the following comment by another reader on Front Page also provides something to consider:
Daniel,

Another hard hitting factual piece from your sharp quill. Steven S. has always been a self righteous woke schmuck & putz. Further, he digs gratuitous violence as most of hedonistic Hollyweird. I saw Jaws about a year after its release & was disgusted by the opening scene, the young girl being ridden & ripped by the shark. Then came Jurassic Park II. Hunters are creeps but T-Rex munching on humans is cool. He is a sick puppy.

So, no surprise that he now supports islamist & anti-Semitic groups. That’s why I call all woke, regressives.
For all we know, some of his films like Jaws are possibly among the most overrated of the past century. We definitely could take the time to reevaluate whether such movies are any good, and even Schindler's List may have to be reevaluated in the long run.

To turn a new page in Israel-Armenian relations, both have to avoid being chummy with Islamic countries at all costs

Armenia's deputy foreign minister paid a visit to Israel this week:
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan arrived in Israel on Tuesday for a series of meetings aimed at exploring the possibility of turning a new page between the two nations.

Nevertheless, behind the diplomatic contacts lie deep disagreements and sensitivities that continue to shape the bilateral relationship.

Central to the agenda is the TRIPP project - a transport corridor concept originally promoted by Azerbaijan that has recently received public diplomatic support from President Donald Trump and several American political figures.

Jerusalem views this as an opportunity to examine regional cooperation alongside a measured rapprochement with Yerevan, which maintains close ties with Iran.

However, alongside the desire to advance joint projects, several key issues continue to cast a shadow over relations.

Antisemitism and the Azerbaijan factor

Reports of vandalism against the Jewish center and synagogue in Yerevan, including arson attempts and hate graffiti, have surfaced in recent years. According to sources in the local Jewish community, some of those involved described their actions as a protest against Israeli arms sales to Azerbaijan.

Concurrently, an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) poll found a high rate of antisemitic attitudes among adults in Armenia. However, local community representatives emphasize that Jewish religious life continues freely and that authorities do not pursue a hostile policy toward them.

For officials in Jerusalem, the disparity between official reassurances and the attacks on the ground remains a lingering concern. [...]

The Iranian connection

In the regional arena, Armenia’s ties with Iran remain a central factor in its relationship with Jerusalem. Due to its geographic isolation, Yerevan relies on Iran for trade and energy routes.

Among other things, a "gas-for-electricity" agreement has been in place for years and has been extended until 2030. Bilateral trade volume has reached approximately $700 million annually in recent years, with Armenia aiming to cross the $3 billion threshold.

Western publications, including mentions in OFAC-related documents, have pointed to possible Iranian use of Armenia for sanction-evasion logistics. Last year, opposition reports surfaced regarding a potential $500 million arms deal, alleging the provision of Iranian Shahed drones to Yerevan. While the Armenian government officially denied these claims, the sensitivity surrounding the Tehran connection continues to be a significant factor in the Israeli approach to Armenia.
Yes, this is very disturbing and serious, and Armenia's government is doing something very offensive by spending taxpayer money for buying anything from Iran. Yet even when it comes to Israel, they're doing something terribly wrong by providing any kind of weaponry to Azerbaijan. And if both sides really want to improve relations, diplomatic or otherwise, that's why they have to reevalute their connections with Islamist sources, period. There's only so much Israel could've done on its part years ago to minimize the damage, yet failed to do, and that's hurt relations with a country that could have some good allies available till this day.

Since this subject has come about, it should also be noted that propagandist Rachel Avraham, quite a whitewasher of Azerbaijan's Islamism already as it is, recently published another item supposedly concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood, and then she demolishes whatever impact she supposedly wants to convey with the following:
Numerous reports from intelligence agencies and parliamentarians indicate that the Muslim Brotherhood incites violence, encourages radicalization, and recruits young people to participate in conflicts in Africa and Asia (Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh). The Muslim Brotherhood does not represent true Islam but supports extremist ideologies and networks. Prominent European experts and human rights defenders delivered inspiring speeches in front of the International Criminal Court, calling for a ban on the Muslim Brotherhood movement, which is showing its global threat to peace and security.
Well, talk about insulting people's intellects! I guess she's not a fan of Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer's research either, huh? And it won't be shocking if Avraham's not particularly concerned about NYC's new Muslim mayor either. What Avraham's written strongly suggests she's never read the koran, or she'd know what sort of horrific verses are published inside it. This is one of the leading reasons I cannot stand Avraham, who's done more harm than good to relations with Israel and Armenia as a result of her apologia not just for Azerbaijan, but also for the Religion of Peace. Why do any news sources keep hiring her?

Netanyahu makes an official recognition of the Armenian Genocide

For the first time, Benjamin Netanyahu's made a major recognition in his own words of the Armenian Genocide committed by Turkey's Islamic Ottoman empire during WW1:
For the first time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that he recognizes the Armenian Genocide during World War 1.

Netanyahu’s comments came in an interview on the PBD Podcast, hosted by Patrick Bet-David.

Bet-David initiated the discussion by contrasting the near-universal recognition of the Holocaust with the lack of broader acknowledgment for the Armenian and Assyrian genocides.

"For anybody that doesn't recognize Armenian-Assyrian genocide, if there's any country that I would have expected to be on the list that recognized the Armenian and the Assyrian and the Greek genocide, it would be Israel," Bet-David said.

He then directly asked the Prime Minister, "Why haven't you yet recognized the Armenian, Assyrian and the Greek genocide that the Turkish did to that community?"

In response, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated, "In fact, I think we have, because I think the Knesset passed a resolution to that effect."

Bet-David expressed uncertainty about the official nature of the recognition, asking, "I don't know if it's come from you, though. I don't know if it's come from the prime minister of Israel."

Netanyahu then offered a direct confirmation, saying, "Yeah, I just did."

For many years, Israel has refrained from recognizing the Armenian Genocide due to its good relations with Turkey, but those have significantly deteriorated since the start of the war.
It's definitely about time a clear message was given. One that can help defeat the repulsive Rachel Avraham's propaganda that was hurtful to Armenia too. At least one statement she once made was dangerously similar to antisemitic Holocaust denial, and to think she'd even publish screeds that implied Armenians were Aryan, in a way that's meant to be derogatory! That was shockingly offensive, and she should be ostracized by all realists for making such a disgusting statement that's also hurtful to the citizenry of countries like Denmark and Holland.

Netanyahu did the right thing to make a statement recognizing the Armenian Holocaust, and let's be clear: no Islamic-run country has the right to veto discussion of the subject, period. If this were allowed to continue, it would be hurtful to Israel's causes, and serious apologies are owed to some of the Israelis who were making efforts to get it more widely discussed in Israeli society.

Did Trump prevent Azerbaijan from attacking Armenia?

According to this report by Zack Jewell, president Donald Trump prevented a war that Azerbaijan was likely planning against Armenia:
In March, Trump administration officials were briefed on U.S. intelligence that Azerbaijan was planning a major offensive against Armenia, reigniting hostilities two years after Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing campaign uprooted thousands of Armenians from their ancestral homeland in Nagorno-Karabakh, Kopalyan said. The American intelligence assessment sparked immediate action from the Trump administration. Later that month, the president’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, opened up negotiations with Azerbaijan as the White House sought to prevent another armed conflict.

“Once U.S. intelligence had that information, the Trump administration decided that they had to step in and put diplomatic pressure on Azerbaijan not to attack, and then initiate diplomacy to find a solution,” said Kopalyan, who previously wrote about the significance of Trump’s Armenia-Azerbaijan deal. “So if it were not for the Trump administration, Azerbaijan would have attacked, and we would have had severe instability in the region.” [...]

Armenia and Azerbaijan have been in and out of severe conflict for the past 35 years, with Azerbaijan most recently taking full control of Nagorno-Karabakh — a large patch of land inside of Azerbaijan that was inhabited by Armenians for centuries. In 2020, conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh resulted in thousands of casualties before a ceasefire was agreed upon. Nearly three years later, Azerbaijan launched a full-scale offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh, forcing Armenians to flee the region.

For the past five years, Azerbaijan has threatened to encroach on Armenia’s sovereignty, pushing for its own trade route — called the Zangezur Corridor — that would cut through Armenia and connect Azerbaijan to its landlocked exclave, Nakhchivan. With Azerbaijan potentially setting its sights on southern Armenia and risking the breakout of another war, the Trump administration had to move fast. [...]

Under the TRIPP proposal, Armenia and the United States would build a major trade route through Syunik that Azerbaijan could use freely to gain better access to Nakhchivan.

“The United States’ presence would alleviate Armenia’s concerns. It would also mitigate Azerbaijan’s concerns, and Azerbaijan would no longer have the Zangezur Corridor premise to attack,” Kopalyan said.

Not all Armenians were pleased with the deal, with some in the diaspora arguing that Trump’s negotiations favored Azerbaijan. The biggest criticism of the deal is that it does not address Azerbaijan’s past human rights abuses against Armenians, such as the ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh and allegations that Azerbaijan’s government is holding at least 23 Armenians — likely more — hostage in Baku.
While this is a valid and vital point, there is a downside here that's problematic:
The Armenian National Committee of America — which is affiliated with the pro-Russia political wing in Armenia called the Armenian Revolutionary Federation — blasted the Trump-negotiated deal. The group said that the deal was “rewarding [Azerbaijan’s] aggression, compromising Armenia’s sovereignty, and consolidating Azerbaijan’s genocidal ethnic cleansing of over 150,000 indigenous Armenian Christians.”
Good grief. Do they realize any support for Russia practically risks even retroactively validating Josef Stalin, the tyrant who practically led to damage against Armenia over a century ago when he enabled Muslim countries like Azerbaijan to take over regions vital to Armenia? If the ANCOA really does support Russia as it is under Vladimir Putin, that's bad, and as a result, a better representative may be needed to make the arguments they do, because communism is no better than Islamofascism.
In a phone call with The Daily Wire, Garen Jinbachian, the community coordinator for the Western Region of the Armenian National Committee of America, said that Trump’s Armenia-Azerbaijan deal “seems like a huge PR stunt to some extent.”

“Frankly, you cannot have lasting peace, you cannot have real peace if one of the parties is held at gunpoint and practically coerced to sign it,”
said Jinbachian. “The whole deal is based on injustice, the lack of justice in the region. Ethnic cleansing is not justice.”
While Trump's staff may have recognized that it was wrong for Azerbaijan to attack Armenia if they were plotting so, it's also wrong to act as though Azerbaijan's leadership is legitimate, based on what they were doing, and already did when they committed ethnic cleansing in Arsakh. The human rights abuses are also another grave felony. So it remains to be seen if Trump's going to do anything to mend that damage, and have any and all hostages held in Azerbaijan released too. The creep running Azerbaijan cannot be considered a legitimate politician based on what he enabled in the past number of years, period, and that's something that must be brought up in the next few years too. Simultaneously, ANCOA must distance themselves from any potential support for Russia as it stands under Putin.

Update: and seriously, should Trump have met with Putin in Alaska? Even if they're not meeting at the White House, it's very troubling that Trump would meet with somebody like Putin any more than Syria's current despot, al-Sharaa.

Both Christians and Judaists need to stand with Armenia

Author David Barton is taking a trip to Armenia, and wants everybody to know why the Christian movement has to show solidarity with Armenia:
Later this month, I will travel to Armenia as part of a delegation of American Christian leaders. By historical consensus, Armenia is the world’s first Christian nation, having adopted Christianity in AD 301, more than a decade before Constantine’s Edict of Milan that granted religious liberty to Christians and others across the realm.

Over the centuries, Armenia has preserved its Christian faith through hostile enemy invasions, forced conversions, and even genocide. Despite being surrounded by autocratic regimes and militant ideologies that directly contest its survival, it has maintained its original faith.

In 2023, the world witnessed the forced displacement of over 120,000 Christian Armenians from their ancestral homeland of Artsakh (widely known as Nagorno-Karabakh), which had long been a self-governing democratic entity within the international borders of Azerbaijan.

The removal of these Christians was the result of a brutal blockade, military assault, and systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing by despotic Azerbaijan, backed by authoritarian Turkey. Sadly, the world’s response to this attack on freedom, religious liberty, self-government, and the right of political self-determination was largely silence.

As Scripture reminds us, “If one member suffers, all suffer together” (1 Corinthians 12:26). Armenia’s suffering must be our concern, not only because of our shared faith but because Armenia’s fate determines whether ancient Christian civilizations will be allowed to survive in an increasingly hostile neighborhood.

Azerbaijan currently holds dozens of Armenian political prisoners, including former political and religious leaders and journalists
. It has demolished centuries-old churches, bulldozed cemeteries, and attempted to erase every vestige of the region’s indigenous Christian heritage. What it cannot destroy is often defaced, and border communities in southern Armenia live in constant fear of violence.

Our trip is organized by Save Armenia, a U.S.-based coalition of Christian and Jewish leaders. We draw global attention to these current threats and offer meaningful solidarity to Christians and Jews living in a perilous region. In the aftermath of recent ethnic cleansings, Save Armenia has mobilized support to protect Armenia’s sovereignty, advocate for justice, and raise awareness among American faith communities and policymakers alike.

Our itinerary is both spiritual and strategic.

We will visit displaced families who have lost everything yet remain deeply rooted in faith, and we will hear the voices of a people who have suffered for their faith yet never abandoned it.
Read the rest. If serious Israelis really care about the danger of Islamofascists invading their land, that's why they can't stand by silently while Azerbaijan's do such a thing to another. And while it's atrocious that Armenia's government is kowtowing to Iran's, that doesn't mean we should let that get in the way of justice. Especially when there's Azeris who've made faustian pacts with Iran too. So again, I wonder how much longer the propagandist Rachel Avraham is going to continue her useless, repellent charade? She deserves condemnation, and serious Israelis on the right in particular must speak up.

Netanyahu's visit to Azerbaijan delayed

His planned trip has been delayed, though it shouldn't be done at all:
"In light of the developments in Gaza and Syria, and due to the intense diplomatic and security schedule, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to postpone his visit to Azerbaijan to a later date," the statement read.
Considering Azerbaijan's violence against Armenia, it's not a good idea to visit them at all. Not until they return Arsakh to Armenian control, that's for sure.

Netanyahu shouldn't visit Azerbaijan

If there's something I decidedly will have to comment on now, it's how Israel retains relations with Azerbaijan, a country that's brutalized Armenia, yet the Israeli government hasn't taken that into consideration, and now Netanyahu is paying them a visit:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to pay an official visit to Baku in the first half of May, where he will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The visit was first reported by Israel Hayom.

The talks are expected to focus on several key regional and bilateral issues. Chief among them is the ongoing Israeli-Turkish dialogue, facilitated by Azerbaijan, regarding Syria. The agenda will also include discussions on Azerbaijan potentially joining the Abraham Accords, particularly in the economic and commercial spheres, and ways to further deepen bilateral relations between Israel and Azerbaijan, as well as their ties with the United States and Central Asia.

The planned meeting follows recent diplomatic activity in the region, including the visit of US envoy Steve Witkoff to Baku and an Israeli-Turkish negotiation round also hosted there. This flurry of diplomatic engagement comes amid a backdrop of high-level regional contacts, including a public letter of thanks from former US President Donald Trump to President Aliyev for Azerbaijan's role in mediation efforts, and successive meetings between Aliyev and the presidents of Turkey and Syria.

Aliyev's active mediation and engagement are turning him into a pivotal diplomatic player, uniquely positioned to bridge divides among various regional actors and contribute to regional stability in the Middle East.
Considering all the abominable behavior Azerbaijan's displayed towards Armenia, I don't think Netanyahu should visit them. I am aware Armenian premier Nikol Pashinyan has angeringly made faustian pacts with Iran, and sold out Arsakh to the Azeris. But that's still no reason to be chummy with Azerbaijan, and assuming the Israeli government is selling weapons to Azerbaijan, that's wrong.

Also note the attendance of Witkoff, who's already disturbed some more realist conservatives, based on his alliances with bad apples, right down to his conversations with Tucker Carlson. That's not very promising either. Again, Witkoff can't remain an envoy, and somebody must ask Trump to relieve him of duty.

110th year since the Armenian Genocide by Turkey's Islamic Ottoman empire

This year marks the 110th since Turkey committed the Armenian Genocide during WW1, a horrifying history that Turkey and even Azerbaijan still won't clearly acknowledge and definitely haven't apologized for:
April 24 marked the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, during which up to 1.5 million Armenians were killed by the Ottman Empire.

Tensions always rise between the Armenians and the modern Turkish government at this time of year, and many Armenians are now taking time during the day to reflect on Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing of Armenians from the Nagorno-Karabakh region in late 2023.

Modern historians look upon the events of 1915-1916 as the first of several genocidal events in the 20th Century, while Turkey disputes the allegation that its Ottoman predecessors were attempting to systematically eliminate the Armenian people, as Nazi Germany would later treat the Jews, or the Hutus of Rwanda would treat the Tutsis.

[...] There were numerous international witnesses to these atrocities, including foreign reporters and military officers. Modern Turkish politicians are generally willing to admit that Armenian civilians were killed and abused in great numbers, but they insist there is no documented proof that the Ottoman government was deliberately trying to exterminate the entire Armenian people.

The Armenians say the Ottomans wanted to eliminate them because they were an inconvenient Christian people standing in the way of the Young Turks’ vision for a mighty Turkic empire that would stretch from the Caucasus all the way to China.

[...] Many Armenians today accuse Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing – eliminating a people by forcibly relocating them, rather than murdering them all – after its military conquest of the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region in 2023.

Nagorno-Karabakh is a swath of territory that fell inside the borders of Azerbaijan after the collapse of the Soviet Union, but most of its inhabitants were ethnic Armenians, who had dwelled in the area they called the “Republic of Artsakh” for centuries, ever since the height of the greater Armenian kingdom.
If the aforementioned Hen Mazzig were really concerned about forced relocation, he would've taken up topics like this, and thrown his support behind the community that really needs backing, here being Armenia's. Instead, he took the side of the savages.
Writing at the Christian Post last Sunday, religious freedom advocate David Curry urged the U.S. government to hold Azerbaijan accountable for abusing Armenians and other Christians, including the ethnic and religious cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The above columnist is absolutely correct. And it's vital to note that Armenia's current premier has to shoulder blame for much of what's befallen the country lately:
Some in the Armenian diaspora have criticized the government of Armenia for stepping back from its efforts to get the other nations of the world to formally recognize the 1915 genocide, in part because the government believes it is making diplomatic progress with Turkey and Azerbaijan.

In March, Armenian President Nikol Pashinyan told Turkish reporters that obtaining international recognition of the Armenian Genocide “is not among our foreign policy priorities today.” He hinted that insisting on recognition of the event was an obstacle to signing a treaty with Azerbaijan or normalizing relations with Turkey.
So not only did he allow Azerbaijan to take over Arsakh without a genuine fight, he's also selling out on the issue of recognition of a serious issue. This too is very chilling, and Pashinyan doesn't deserve to be a politician.

Here's some more history (via The Daily Wire) of some of the most obscene incidents during tragedy:
While the death toll is in dispute, photographs from the era document some mass killings. Some show Ottoman soldiers posing with severed heads, others with them standing amid skulls in the dirt. The victims are reported to have died in mass burnings and by drowning, torture, gas, poison, disease and starvation. Children were reported to have been loaded into boats, taken out to sea and thrown overboard. Rape, too, was frequently reported.
Just one more reason it's a disgrace anybody lets countries governed by the Religion of Peace off the hook. Of course, CNN is still making things worse by using that line "death toll in dispute". It is most definitely not.

Rachel Avraham continues her obsession with invalidating Armenia

The propagandist Rachel Avraham, a decidedly phony "conservative", is continuing her efforts to undermine Armenia, and make Azerbaijan look morally superior in every way. A most peculiar moment here:
Two countries are set to be impacted by Trump's strategic moves: the first is, of course, Israel, which is engaged in a difficult war against Islamist terror organizations in the region. The second is Azerbaijan, a country that borders Iran, is an ally of Turkey, and a true friend of Israel. Azerbaijan is a pro-Israel country, despite its majority Shia Muslim population, which, logically, should make it a staunch supporter of its southern neighbor, Iran. But it is not, which creates strategic threats to Azerbaijan's survival, just as in the past.
But Turkey is an enemny of Israel, so I'm confused as to what she's babbling about here, right down to how she obscures any wrongdoing on Azerbaijan's part, which recently included destruction of Armenia's Christian heritages in Arsakh. And does she understand that not all Islamists side with one another? The Religion of Peace practically allows fighting between 2 clans who both follow it, one of the reasons why the wars between Iraq and Iran years before.
We need to understand that when Iran weakens a pro-Western country in the Middle East, it sends a message to all other pro-Western nations not to engage with it. More importantly, Iran strengthens itself in the process. Therefore, we can certainly expect the Trump administration to bolster those countries seeking peace with the West, and Azerbaijan is among them. In fact, President Trump views a strong Azerbaijan to be key to stability in the South Caucuses. The Americans will utilize Azerbaijan in order to strengthen the relationship between Israel and Turkey, as well as to confront Iranian aggression in the region.

The Democrats did not view the region in this manner, as they are heavily influenced by the Armenian lobby. However, the Republicans are less influenced by the Armenian lobby and therefore are more likely to see the merits that Azerbaijan has to offer than their Democratic opponents. Therefore, a Trump presidency is likely to pressure Armenia to make peace with Azerbaijan and Turkey, so that the Armenians can be distanced from the Iranians, rather than embolden hard-liner Armenian positions.
To say the Democrats are allegedly influenced by an "Armenian lobby" is about as effective as saying the Republicans are influenced by the Jewish lobby. And while I'm aware of any wrongdoing Armenia's committed, including any positions their government took that are harmful to Israel, that doesn't excuse whatever horrors Islamofascists committed against them, past, present or future. No sane person should have to make choice between Iran or Azerbaijan, nor should they be deceived by taqqiya. And does it occur to Avraham that the Democrats have sold out to Islam, and won't convincingly oppose Azerbaijan's antics?

Mrs. Avraham continues to be a shoddy disgrace who even downplays the serious issues of Islam, all for the sake of bizarre virtue-signaling, and the worst part is that she likely doesn't give a damn if Azerbaijan's military commits horrors anew.

Vladimir Putin goes to Azerbaijan

Russia's autocrat, who pointlessly started a war with Ukraine all for the sake of it, is now visiting Azerbaijan, and they don't seem to have any issue with it:
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Azerbaijan on Sunday for a two-day state visit, looking to bolster Russia’s relationship with the aggressive Islamist power even as relations with Armenia — Russia’s former best friend in the region — deteriorate.

Azerbaijan is on the relatively short list of countries Putin can visit safely, as he faces an outstanding warrant for his arrest on war crimes charges related to his invasion of Ukraine. Azerbaijan is not a signatory to the treaty that established the International Criminal Court (ICC), so it has no legal obligation to arrest him
.

Putin’s visit comes at a bad moment for Russian military pride, as Ukraine is now almost three weeks into a surprising border incursion that has brought several Russian towns under Kyiv’s control. Armenia already had a very low opinion of Russia’s ability to protect vulnerable borders.

The Armenians are seething because Russia did not lift a finger to prevent Azerbaijan from seizing, and ethnically cleansing, the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region in September 2023. Russia deployed “peacekeepers” to the area after brokering a truce in the Armenia-Azerbaijan war of 2020, but they merely stood by and watched as Azeri troops rolled in, then packed up their gear and headed off for the front lines in Ukraine.

Nagorno-Karabakh was rated the most unfree region in the entire world by Freedom House six months after the Azerik conquest. Freedom House noted the Armenian Christian population was already sick, hungry, impoverished, and terrorized from a brutal Azeri blockade before the conquering army rolled in and forced most of them to flee.
And the disgusting "reporter" Rachel Avraham made things worse by acting as an apologist for a country adhering to the Religion of Peace. One must wonder if she thinks Putin's associations with Azerbaijan are as acceptable as their taqqiya (deception). Severe damage has been done, and you can be sure the Democrats in the USA won't lift a finger in Armenia's defense.

Armenian government's unfortunate following in footsteps of Spain's only worsens the situation

This may be a few weeks old, but it's very sad that Armenia's government, the same one selling out their country to Azerbaijan, is imitating Spain's, and recognizing a palestinian state, as though that'll improve the situation:
The Armenian government said Friday that it would recognize the state of Palestine, following similar announcements in recent weeks by Norway, Ireland, Spain and Slovenia. The decision — which makes Armenia the 145th country to extend such recognition — elicited praise from Palestinian authorities and a stern rebuke by Israel.

Citing the “catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza,” Armenia’s Foreign Ministry said it was taking this step because “Armenia is genuinely committed to establishing peace and stability in the Middle East, and lasting reconciliation between the Jewish and Palestinian peoples.”

But this latest move could only complicate efforts to improve Armenian-Israeli ties — and to dispel the idea that Armenia is a hotbed of antisemitism. Israeli officials have summoned Armen Akopian, Armenia’s Tel Aviv-based ambassador, to a meeting for an official rebuke.
The moral equivalence involved here is additionally offensive.
The two countries’ relations have already been soured by billions of dollars in Israeli weapons sales to Armenia’s arch-enemy, Azerbaijan, as well as a bitter land dispute over Armenian church property in Jerusalem’s Old City. Adding insult to injury in the eyes of many here, Israel still hasn’t officially recognized the 1915 genocide of up to 1.5 million ethnic Armenians under Ottoman Turkish rule.

Every year on April 24, Armenians around the world, including in Israel, observe Genocide Remembrance Day, a solemn reminder of the first mass killing of the 20th century — and an event that gave rise to the term “genocide” itself.

“We feel that Jews and Armenians have a common destiny. And that’s why it hurts us more when this attitude comes from Israel,” said Stella Mehrabekyan, a senior editor at the CivilNet news agency in Yerevan. “We expect Israel’s actions would be based on moral grounds. Maybe this is naïve, but when your children are killed by Israeli drones, you cannot stay indifferent.”
What the above is indicating is that, while antisemitism has obviously always been prevalent in Armenian society for a long time, some of what's happening now, stupid as it is, may have what to do with the very shoddy approach Israel's governments took to the historical issue from WW1. And as angering as what Armenia's government is doing now, we shouldn't let that get in the way of recognizing the Armenian Genocide officially, as even a writer at the Jerusalem Post points out, and selling weapons to Azerbaijan is very disturbing, especially when said weapons could be put to better use against the Hezbollah now:
The relationship between Israel and Armenia has been strained for quite some time now. Ultimately, it comes down to a handful of factors.

The first is the issue of Israel’s support for Azerbaijan via its defense systems amid the Nagorno-Karabakh armed conflict.

According to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute released in 2021, Israel was the source of 69% percent of Azerbaijan’s arms imports in the five years leading up to the report being published.

According to Middle East Eye, Azerbaijan was also able to use an Israeli interceptor system to shoot down an Armenian Iskander ballistic missile.

Armenia’s ambassador to Israel, Arman Akopian, told The Jerusalem Post this past September—just one week before the October 7 massacre—that Azerbaijan has been using Israeli weapons to maintain its power over Nagorno-Karabakh, including against civilians.
It's an interesting query whether weapons are still being provided to Azerbaijan even after October 7, 2023, because if so, that would make it look like Israel's actually willing to waste vital weaponry on countries that happen to be bad, when said weapons should be reserved for fighting the Hamas and Hezbollah now. Presumably, the government's not giving any weapons to Azerbaijan now. But if they are, they're creating an utter PR embarrassment.
In the spring of 1982, before the First International Conference on the Holocaust and Genocide, which took place in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Turkey demanded the cancellation of six sessions on the Armenian Genocide and the exclusion of Armenian speakers. They threatened to stop protecting Jews escaping from Iran and Syria if the Israeli government did not comply.

Turkey has not been an ally of Israel for quite some time. While the relationship has been fraught, making the subject a delicate one, Israel is a far cry from being a friend of Turkey right now, especially with the outlandish claims in support of Hamas that the successor state to the Ottoman Empire has made.

That being said, it means that avoiding the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is no conflict of interest on the diplomatic front with Turkey.

As of 2023, some 34 countries around the world have recognized the Armenian Genocide.

Israel—a country made up of people who have experienced genocide, pogroms, and torment—has yet to do so.

Israeli lawmakers and activists have been fighting to bring about this recognition for years.

It is widely recognized that those responsible for the Armenian Genocide largely avoided punishment. Adolf Hitler believed he could commit his atrocities without consequence, citing the lack of action taken for the Armenians as justification.

[...] A reader reached out this week following our coverage of Palestinian statehood recognition this week and pointed out that it is “unconscionable that Israel continues to deny the Armenian Genocide and use the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians as a political cudgel for diplomacy and international relations.”

He certainly is not wrong. Recognition of a genocide—something clear as day to anyone with a basic definition of “genocide” and the clear data of the millions killed at the hands of the Ottoman Empire—should not coincide with diplomatic tiptoeing.

If Israel wants to be recognized on the international stage as a voice of sanity and of legitimate morality, it must do the moral thing.

Put the ego aside. Recognize the Armenian Genocide
.
By doing so, it could help to make clear the Armenian government can't go through with the atrocious path they're taking that only awards the Religion of Peace that led to the horror of the the early 20th century.

Globally speaking, Armenia is on the front line in the war against Islamic jihadism

Robert Spencer is making the case an awful writer like Rachel Avraham refuses to make in all her selling out to Azerbaijan's propaganda. A most important concern is raised:
Like the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, this is a religious conflict that is widely misunderstood to be a dispute over land. Just as the Palestinians and their allies will not accept the existence a Jewish state of any size, because they believe that the entire region is Islamic land, so also the Azerbaijanis and their allies (which include Turkey) will not accept any Armenia of any size. As is always the case with jihad, a victory is only a prelude for more aggression: Azerbaijan and Turkey have already begun to make new territorial demands against Armenia for a corridor that will link the two countries. The ultimate goal is to create a Turkish-dominated Islamic bloc stretching from Istanbul to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan; Armenia is the only non-Muslim entity standing in the way, and so it must be destroyed.

Why, then, is Armenia not generally recognized as the primary jihadi target that it is? Primarily because the global jihad is still widely ignored, denied, and misunderstood. Few people, and none of them are in the U.S. State Department, recognize that the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is a jihad. This analytical failure has deformed the American response to this conflict for decades, and continues to do so. The Israelis themselves have never demonstrated any serious awareness of the fact that they’re dealing with an enemy with whom there can be no lasting negotiated settlement, and ultimately no peaceful coexistence, no matter how many concessions they make.

That may be one reason why Israel is allied not with Armenia, but with Azerbaijan. The Israeli government is not infallible, but its friendship with Azerbaijan is an understandable exercise in realpolitik: Azerbaijan is continually at odds with the Islamic Republic of Iran, which of course would love above all else to destroy Israel. So for Israel to aid Azerbaijan and try to force Iran to have to worry about something other than how to go about eradicating the Jewish state is simple common sense, at least for the short term.

In the long run, however, it could be disastrous. Azerbaijan will accept Israel’s help as long as it is useful, but as it continues its jihad against Armenia, it demonstrates that it is committed to principles that are ultimately incompatible with its alliance with Israel. Will Azerbaijan give up Israel or Islam? Anyone who is aware of the history of Islam and the trajectory of nations that relax Islamic rules and appear more secular for a period will not bet that Azerbaijan will ultimately give up Islam.
Well this is definitely a valid argument. For too long, Israel really screwed the pooch when it came to Armenia, and resulted in a very divisive situation that could've been avoided long ago. I myself will definitely not side with a country like Azerbaijan, which has its own record of misogyny and violence. And it's an utter disgrace what the Soviet Union did, leading to this situation in the early 20th century where Arsakh was separated from Armenia.

All that aside, anybody who recognizes the seriousness of the issue here must object to surrendering Armenian land to Azerbaijan just like Israel cannot continue doing so when it comes to Islamic-led countries.

Armenian government selling out homeland and citizens to Azerbaijan, who may have incited riots in Nouvelle Caledonie

This news may be a few weeks old, but it's still very chilling, whether it already happened or not:
In early March 2024, Azerbaijan demanded that Armenia hand over eight villages along the two countries’ borders. To avoid a new war, Yerevan agreed to transfer four villages to Azerbaijani control; the border delimitation process is now underway. Local residents, however, oppose the decision; they want Armenia to refuse to concede any territory and have appealed to international human rights organizations for help. Photographer Egor Kirillov traveled to the border village of Kirants, which is still Armenian territory, to photograph residents’ fight against the transfer. [...]

“We’re losing our homeland. Every Armenian needs to understand: our old enemy, the one who committed genocide against us, could come knocking on any door at any moment,” local resident Mariam Simonyan told Meduza. Even if the protests don’t change anything, she wants her descendants to know that she opposed the land’s transfer to Azerbaijan.
Yikes. This is similar to how the Israeli Labor party originally surrendered parts of Judea/Samaria to the PLO over 30 years ago, and look where that got Israel on October 7, 2023. Now, Armenia's government is acting in pure cowardice, with the worst part being much of the world's turning a deaf ear and blind eye to this atrocity. This will lead to a horror story sooner or later. And the aforementioned coward Rachel Avraham will doubtless sugarcoat this awful news too.

Also eyebrow-raising is this news of France accusing Azerbaijan of being involved in riots on New Caledonia:
Days of clashes between demonstrators and police in French-controlled New Caledonia are fueled by foreign interference, Paris declared on Thursday, as local officials vowed to restore order in the South Pacific territory.

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said that the violence, which has claimed the lives of three indigenous Kanak people and a police officer, had been actively supported by Azerbaijan.

“This isn’t a fantasy,”
he insisted on Thursday. “I regret that some of the separatists have made a deal with Azerbaijan.” However, “even if there are attempts at interference, … France is sovereign on its own territory, and so much the better,” he added.

Speaking to POLITICO, a French intelligence official granted anonymity to discuss sensitive issues of national security, said that “we’ve detected activities from Russia and Azerbaijan in New Caledonia for weeks, even a few months. They’re pushing the narrative of France being a colonialist state.” [...]

Relations between France and Azerbaijan have hit rock bottom in recent years as a result of French military and political support for the South Caucasus country’s neighbor and historic rival Armenia — a situation only intensified by Baku’s military seizure of the ethnic Armenian region of Nagorno-Karabakh last year.
And no surprise Russia could be involved in this distraction either. This is similarly repellent news, and coupled with how Azerbaijan's even had jihadists coming from their territory, not to mention associated with the late Ebrahim Raisi, and Russia's made use of Iranian-manufactured weapons, it makes clear both countries are a very bad influence.

Iran's "president" may have perished in plane crash

News has come out that the so-called president of Iran and his foreign minister were in a plane crash in the mountains after returning from a visit to Azerbaijan. And:
6:00 p.m.: Western sources say that they now estimate that President Raisi did not survive the crash. A US State Department spokesperson told CBS News that the US is "closely following reports of a possible hard landing of a helicopter in Iran carrying the Iranian president and foreign minister. We have no further comment at this time."
Well let's hope he didn't, nor his foreign minister. It tells quite a bit that they were going to Azerbaijan, a country that attacked Armenia, and as noted here:
Earlier Sunday, the Abu Ali Express news blog reported on the meeting between Raisi and Aliyev, saying that it had been “disturbing” from Israel’s point of view, because Azerbaijan has been friendly with Israel until now.
But the Azeri hostility to Armenia ruins everything, as does the former country's adherence to Islam. Israel's governments long made a horrible mistake maintaining relations with a country that's now let the mask slip, but luckily, it looks like it all came back and bit Iran's autocrats in the butt now. A country that was supplying Hamas and Hezbollah with funding has now hopefully been crippled.

Update: more reports state there were no signs of life found at the site of the crash (Hat tip: Breitbart):
Iran’s state television says there is “no sign” of life among passengers of the helicopter which was carrying President Ebrahim Raisi and other officials.

“Upon finding the helicopter, there was no sign of the helicopter passengers being alive as of yet,” state TV reports.

An Iranian official tells Reuters: “President Raisi’s helicopter was completely burned in the crash… unfortunately, all passengers are feared dead.”
Oh well. These were a bunch of antisemites and misogynists riding that aircraft, who wasted tons of money bankrolling Hamas and oppressing women. They won't be a loss.

Turkey bans a memorial for the Armenian genocide

Turkey continues its racist contempt for Armenians as the capitol city, Istanbul, banned a memorial for victims of the Armenian Genocide during WW1:
Officials in Istanbul banned a ceremony attempting to mark the anniversary of the beginning of the Armenian genocide organized for Wednesday, an event perpetrated by the last remnants of the Ottoman Empire and continuously denied by Ankara to this day.

The Turkish outlet Bianet initially reported on Monday that a group in Istanbul called the “April 24 Commemoration Platform,” named after the day marking the beginning of the genocide, attempted to formally organize a public event on that day to honor the victims of the genocide. The event would have reportedly taken place in front of the Süreyya Opera House in Kadıköy district, Istanbul. The Istanbul Governor’s Office did not grant approval for the event. Bianet did not specify if the Istanbul Governor’s Office offered any reasoning for the ban.

While the Turkish government has never full acknowledged the genocide, prior to the rise of the Islamist Justice and Development Party (AKP), similar solemn memorial events were allowed. In a report on Istanbul’s recent history of marking the event published in October, author Özgür Sevgi Göral, observed that growing social awareness of the genocide and recognition of other atrocities by the Turkish government was growing but appeared to come to a halt following the rise of the AKP as a political heavyweight in 2003.
You can be sure the anti-semitic demonstrators in the USA and Europe, carrying on with their repulsive tirades at Columbia University, in example, are also very sympathetic to Turkey and the Religion of Peace's positions on the issue, and hostile to Armenians. It's vital to consider Islam was the driving factor both during WW1's tragedy, and also the October 7, 2023 bloodbath by Hamas. And also the jihad bloodbath that occurred in Hebron in 1929. That's what makes these issues so horrific. Meanwhile, Turkey strikes again with their autocratic, racist offenses.

Update: in a semi-related subject, Armenian organizations were outraged by how Joe Biden failed to raise the issue of Arsakh, and the slaughter of Christians in the area by Azerbaijan.

It's vital to recognize the tragedy of the Armenian genocide by Turkey's Islamic Ottomans now

Nadav Shragai makes the vital case for a more official recognition of the abominations committed by Turkey's Islamic Ottoman empire during WW1:
This coming April will mark the 109th anniversary of the Armenian genocide by the Turks, for which, Turkey's current president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, refuses to assume responsibility. This date will almost simultaneously also mark 76 years of Israel's embarrassing efforts to evade formal recognition of this genocide. And right now, we are commemorating another important episode in modern history: 100 days since the October 7 massacre, in addition to the blood libel that Turkey's president has accused Israel of, which according to him is "like the Nazis", as he has alleged that Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

This current juncture – at the precise time when a court hearing has begun in The Hague alleging that "Israel has violated the Convention of the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide" – should lead the way, however late this might be, to a profound discourse and reflection towards official Israeli recognition, after all this time, for the Armenian genocide.

The state of the Jewish people, which itself experienced the Holocaust, a considerably more severe historical event both in terms of scale and ferocity, has for years refrained from officially recognizing the genocide that the Turks perpetrated against the Armenians, due to what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informally defined as "vital security interests" as well as "the profound economic relationship between the two states." The outcome of this definition is that even now when for the umpteenth time, Erdogan has identified with and supported the modern-day Amalek, the Palestinazi Hamas, and even when he has reiterated the absurd comparison between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hitler – Israel still refuses to recognize the Armenian genocide. [...]

At this current period in time, when Erdogan unashamedly supports the new Nazis of our generation, Israel has been presented with another opportunity to amend this situation. The Jewish state should have asked itself a long time ago: would it, itself, have accepted the refusal to acknowledge the Jewish Holocaust by any state due to economic or security interests, as it has pinned its refusal for years on such interests in its decision to refrain from any official acknowledgment of the Armenian people's holocaust.

After all, the moral compass should be the same in both cases, and the Israeli government's refusal to acknowledge the Armenian genocide is a clear case of blatant moral bankruptcy. Though the Armenian holocaust was different from the Jewish Holocaust – less industrially organized and effective, and much more limited in terms of its scale – despite these significant differences, the Armenian people did suffer a real form of genocide. Many historians and more than 30 states have recognized the genocide of this people, in which between one to one and a half million people were annihilated. To our great shame, of all nations, Israel has refrained from acknowledging this, and in the clear conflict between morality and interests – it is the interests that prevailed.
And all because they've been so terrified of wrecking relations with Turkey, no matter the vulgar abuse creeps like Erdogan heap upon Israel, which includes the recent persecution of a soccer player. This has long rendered local policy a sick farce. And disgusting "journalists" like Rachel Avraham have made the situation far worse.

The time's come to start mending the damage and making an announcement that Israel will make an official recognition of Medz Yeghern. It's long overdue, and could help mend strained relations with Armenia itself.

Even Armenia is still in danger from Azerbaijan

While much attention's been focused on the Hamas bloodbath over in Israel, Armenia also remains in very bad shape, because of Azerbaijan's hostility, and how they drove many out of Arsakh:
While war and atrocity dominate headlines around the world, a largely overlooked conflict in the Caucuses has escalated to ethnic cleansing of the Christian population from the oldest Christian nation in the world.

For fear of their lives, more than 100,000 Armenians have been forced to flee their ancestral home in Nagorno-Karabakh after Azerbaijan seized total control over the region in September. The 1,700-square-mile mountainous slice of land has been inhabited by Armenians for thousands of years, but it is surrounded by Azerbaijan, a majority Muslim nation that says the region is its territory.

Though the fight is over territory, experts say that at its core, the conflict stems from ethnic and religious differences between Armenians and Azerbaijanis.

“Ethnicity and religion are intertwined. Azerbaijanis may say they do not hate Christians But, when it comes to Armenians — the indigenous population in the region — the Azerbaijanis show no tolerance,” explained Dr. Michael Rubin, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and expert on the region. “Azerbaijanis recognize deep down that had it not been for Joseph Stalin, they would have no claim whatsoever to Nagorno-Karabakh. The Azerbaijanis realize they have no legitimacy and so target with special animus those who do.”

Yana Avanesyan, a doctoral researcher who is originally from Nagorno-Karabakh, says the religious difference between the two countries plays a major role in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

“When we say Armenians, we are speaking about us being Christians,” Avanesyan told The Daily Wire. “We know they hate us so much that they will just destroy everything.”
It's important to point out though, that even if Armenia weren't Christian, their non-Muslim status is used by the Azeris as justification for the assault on their territory. But it's good this article reminds everyone of how Stalin was guilty of leading to the terrible situation we're at now when it comes to Armenia's status. Something the repellent journalist Rachel Avraham chose to obscure, most offensively.
Many refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh are sick and malnourished – Azerbaijan’s military began blockading the region in December of last year, cutting off access to food, electricity and water from the outside. Some are also exhausted after fleeing into Armenia on foot – and Armenia has expressed concern that it may not have the resources to care for such a massive influx of people.

Her family was among the more than 100,000 who fled the region without a place to go. The estimated population of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh is roughly 120,000, meaning nearly the entire population have decided to flee.

[...] “Azerbaijan did not order any Armenians to leave,” Amberin Zaman wrote from Armenia for Al-Monitor. “Yet it ensured that life was so miserable that few would opt to stay. Indeed, even as Azerbaijani authorities rebuffed claims of ethnic cleansing, insisting their forces had struck ‘legitimate military targets,’ eyewitness accounts of rape and indiscriminate shelling that wounded and killed children began to emerge.”
This too is obscene news, and that many western nations refused to take concrete steps against Azerbaijan, possibly because they're oil-rich, is also inexcusable. Now, Armenia's another country that could end up in ruin, also because their own leadership took no proper action to prevent this additional disaster either, which has angered their own population.
